Multipool minig is the process of jumping across from crypto to crypto currency and mining the most profitable crypto coin at that moment in time.

Multi-pool miners will take into account a crypto currencies network mining power and their exchange rates.

They will then mostly sell their mined currency back into Gold mining company in tanzania depressing the price of the crypto currency they have just mined.

A multi pool will take a particular crypto currency – which lets say has a total mining power of 10GH at present. They will then calculate their hash power, which lets say is 90GH, multicoin mining, so they have a 90% probability of mining the block if they jump the hashrate of the crypto currency to multicoin mining. They then calculate that particular crypto currencies reward per block and conversion rate to their base currency they are operating from.

With mining, it is important to understand the different types of blocks that come with it because of the effect it can have on your expected income. This article provides a comprehensive insight into orphan, uncle & genesis blocks.

Another factor to be taken into account is at what level the difficulty is set and how quickly and to what level it adjusts. Difficulty can be adjusted in a variety of ways, per block using the Kimoto Gravity well, or immediately using digishield.

In the case of Bitcoin itself the block difficulty is adjusted every 2 weeks, or 2016 blocks, with an average block time of 10 minutes – when the crypto currency doesn’t multicoin mining digishield or block adjustments regularly, and has low network hashing power, multi pool miners can rapidly increase the network hashing power and rapidly take command of a pool and decrease the block time.

So in the case of our hypothetical crypto currency the block time would be increased from 10 minutes to 1 minute until difficulty readjustment takes place, increasing the supply in that time period ten fold.

This means a whole host of that particular crypto currency is created and, multicoin mining, if the multi miner decides to sell, is dumped onto the market. This can sometimes not work in the multipool miners favour as too much multicoin mining can lead to depressed pricing into their base currency.

So in all a multi pool miner can rapidly take control of a security network, increase the block time depending on difficulty readjustment algorithms, and mine a large amount of blocks in a short time. The negative effect for them is that it produces lower prices as more supply is produced.

Digibyte and Dogecoin both implemented Digishield that immediately increases the difficulty when multi pool miners join their network. Other crypto currencies have also adopted measures to reduce the volatility in their block times, multicoin mining, difficulty and network hashing power.

If you have been following my blog, I have posted several articles on the Denarius wallet and its features, I have since set up an old Dell tower with a 1060 GTX 6 GB card to investigate mining returns. I first tried to mine DNR in the hashbag.cc mining pool but couldn't figure out how to configure my .bat file, being a mining n00b. Somebody in the Denarius Gitter Lobby truned me onto the CWIGM miner and I got that bad boy configured in less than 15 minutes and have been mining DNR regularly for about two weeks. I am getting 11-12 payments a day from that mining pool without having to log into a browser, which is super nice. My 1060 card is running at about 32 MH/s and I am averaging almost 2 DNR a day with just the one card, so a serious mining rig would have much higher returns than my little tinker toy setup. You can see my returns here (ignore the tiny PoS returns, I have been playing with that feature as well but it doesn't fully kick in until block 3 million):

***Note: I have my wallet set to show my balance in milliDNR

Denarius still has a low enough hashrate than you can profitably mine with a small setup like my old Dell with one PCIE16 slot. Look at their most recent stats page for info on their stats:

I had also tried doing some Komodo mining, another coin I am interested in and had been mining some in MadMiningClub, when the pool seemed to lose all its miners. I went to their Supernet slack to find another mining pool and was directed at Komodo Mining Pool. Lo & behold, I am not the only one interested in DNR, apparently KMD miners have high regard for Denarius, which doesn't even use the same algo as they do. Look here:

I went to the Denarius lobby to check in with their crew and let them know that Komodo miners were also interested in their coin when the fellow running komodominingpool came into the slack himself and invited Denarius lead developer Carsen Klock to join their Slack to discuss being added to Komdo's new mutlicoin Agama wallet which will soon feature a BarterDex decentralized exchange. Denarius is still under $1M in market cap, so this kind of news has made me stop fooling around with trying to mine anything else on my tiny rig. For more info on how to get set up mining Denarius, you can join the Denarius Gitter Lobby here:

You can look back at my previous posts for my interview with Carsen Klock posted here exclusively on Steemit.

Happy Mining and Many Prosperous Returns!
